OpenWeather New Group Reports Dashboard Feature: Your Local Weather, Professionally Analyzed
Posted on 10 Jan 2025
OpenWeather is thrilled to announce a new enhancement to our Dashboard platform with the introduction of the new OpenWeather Dashboard feature. This exciting addition aims to help users, both basic and premium, access and engage with hyperlocal weather insights.
Previously, our Dashboard's report section allowed premium users to work with our own expert meteorologists, and view their own custom weather reports. Now, leveraging the expertise of our dedicated meteorology team, OpenWeather will be providing readily available, professionally crafted weather reports for a wide range of locations. This means that all our Dashboard users can now benefit from in-depth weather analysis without needing to create custom reports themselves, no matter the pricing tier.
How does it work?
Our meteorologists will be regularly generating group reports for popular locations around the globe, such as London, New York, and Düsseldorf. These reports will be accessible to any user within a specific radius of these locations. For instance, if you're located within 10 kilometers of The Gherkin in London, you'll be able to access the comprehensive weather report generated for that location.
This feature is powered by new Dashboard functionality which allows our weather experts to define a radius for each generated report, ensuring that the information reaches the most relevant audience.
Benefits for Everyone:
- Free Users: Gain access to valuable, professionally prepared weather reports without any cost. This provides a fantastic opportunity to receive a professional forecast for your favourite location.
- Premium Users: While premium users already enjoy the ability to create custom reports, the Group Report Dashboard offers an additional layer of convenience. It provides a quick and easy way to access general weather overviews for specific areas, complementing their existing tools and data sets.
The Expertise Behind the Reports:
Reports provide both raw data and expert analysis from meteorologists on key weather parameters. To quickly identify potential issues, a color-coding system highlights critical values. (This can be easily demonstrated on screen).
Our team of experienced meteorologists will generate these group reports. Their expertise ensures that the reports deliver accurate and insightful information, covering various meteorological aspects such as:
- Temperature: Detailed analysis of current and predicted temperatures,
- Feels like
- Probability of precipitation
- Precipitation: Accurate forecasts of rain, snow, or other precipitation events, helping users plan their activities accordingly.
- Wind gust, speed and direction, wind speed on 50 m high: Crucial information for various sectors, from logistics to outdoor recreation.
- Humidity, dew point and atmospheric conditions: Insights into comfort levels and potential weather-related challenges.
- Severe weather alerts: warnings about potentially hazardous weather conditions, ensuring user safety.
- Visibility
OpenWeather is committed to continuously improving our platform and providing users with the most valuable weather data and tools. The Group Report Dashboard is a testament to this commitment. We believe this new feature will significantly enhance the user experience, making it easier than ever to access and understand the weather information that matters most.
