New Weather Alerts via push notifications
Posted on 24 Jul 2020
We at OpenWeather are glad to introduce the first release of Weather Alerts based on government warnings. Our Weather Alerts product collects weather warnings from major weather warning systems and presents them in a uniform and convenient data format. Thanks to the push notifications mechanism, you will get timely notifications about severe weather for the specified locations. Push notifications and the flexible locations management system will help to easily integrate this product into any developer projects.
To work with the product, you just need to specify the coordinates of the location of interest and the URL for getting alert notifications.
Alert notifications will be sent:
as soon as we get a warning from a government agency
15 minutes before the start of the alert event
if the alert is cancelled or its information is updated.
Please contact us if you are interested in getting access to Weather Alerts.
We are going to expand the product’s functionality in future releases: among other things, we are planning to implement pull requests.
