Posted on 15 Aug 2024

If you are a student seeking to explore the exciting realm of weather data and technology, OpenWeather's internship program provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, contribute to impactful projects, and kickstart your career in meteorology, data science, software development, or business.

Even the most accomplished individuals often start their journeys with internships. Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, famously began his tech career as an intern at TRW. Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors, gained valuable experience at Pontiac Motor Division. Ursula Burns, former CEO of Xerox, began her meteoric rise through an internship with the company.

OpenWeather is now offering the chance to gain practical, industry experience within our highly experienced and knowledgeable teams.

OpenWeather Internships

We offer three distinct internship tracks, each tailored to your interests and career goals:

IT Internship: Immerse yourself in software and product development, creating the innovative tools that drive weather forecasting and analysis. Gain valuable experience in all stages of the development life-cycle under the guidance of experienced developers.

Research Internship: Analyze weather patterns, conduct research projects, and contribute to scientific discoveries that shape our understanding of climate and the environment.

Business Internship: Learn the ins and outs of market analysis, marketing strategies, sales techniques, and business development, gaining valuable skills for a career in the commercial side of weather technology.

Our internships are part-time and remote, spanning three months, offering flexibility for students while providing the structure and mentorship to develop your skills in a real-world setting.

To be successful, we're looking for undergraduate or postgraduate students based in the UK (preferably London) who are passionate about weather, technology, or business. You should be eager to learn, apply your knowledge, and collaborate with a team of experts.
